  • Umphrey's McGee - ZONKEY CD
    Item #: UYCD34
Umphrey’s McGee has been arranging and performing original mashups live for over eight years. It was only a matter of when, not if, some of those innovative concoctions would find their way into a studio. And that when has arrived.

UM is pleased to announce ZONKEY, an album of 12 unique mashups, conceived, arranged & executed by the band. ZONKEY is as seamless as it bizarre, playful as it is razor sharp. Bits and pieces of classic songs are culled from 40+ years of popular music from 70’s Reggae to 80's Pop to 90’s Metal and everywhere in between. From Radiohead mashed with Beck, The Weeknd with Fleetwood Mac, Talking Heads with Bob Marley, Metallica with Gorillaz….nothing is off limits.

ZONKEY clearly pays homage to some of our favorite artists & songs. While we’ve tried to reproduce the spirit of the original compositions & recordings, we’ve also tried to have some fun with the structure as we’ve often combined seemingly dissimilar musical elements to create a new vibe altogether,” notes keyboardist Joel Cummins.

  • Umphrey's McGee Reel To Real Download
    Item #: UYDD60
The signed version of Reel To Real is expected to ship the week of July 11th.

Track list for Reel To Real Soundtrack:
    1. Gone for Good
    2. Glory (acoustic)
    3. Full Frontal
    4. Australian Lullaby (acoustic)
    5. Plunger (acoustic)
    6. Plunger Commentary
    7. Bull Nasties
    8. Abbodon
    9. All Is Done
    10. Australian Lullaby (electric)
    11. Orfeo

On the heels of the release of our archival documentary Reel To Real, we are pleased to share the original soundtrack from the film. Comprised of 11 tracks scanning the entire 18-plus year history of UM, this one covers a wide swath of ground. In addition new and old, studio and live Umphrey’s, six of the tracks are solo works from Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger.

Following the opening single "Gone for Good," an acoustic version of "Glory," performed entirely by Cinninger and featured in the penultimate scene of Reel To Real, makes its debut. Two versions of the film's main title "Australian Lullaby," written and performed by Bayliss are audio ambien (do not operate heavy machinery while listening). A rare acoustic "Plunger" is followed by lyrical analysis and contemplative yet humorous recollections about UM's original drummer Mike Mirro. Three tracks from Cinninger's Boondocks Studio check all the boxes from head banging metal to a Brian Eno inspired composition aimed at moving pictures. And an oldie but goodie, "Orfeo" from the band’s 1998 debut album Greatest Hits Vol. III caps off this eclectic offering.

If you haven't seen the film, you can stream or download it in all its glory on Vimeo.

STS9 stormed the stage and took the energy to whole other level on this beautiful Saturday in Georgia. As night fell on Encore Park, lighting designer Saxton Waller filled up the venue and illuminated the audience with his stunning lighting rig. The energy was out of this world as STS9 started off on fire with “Kabuki” and “Monkey Music”. STS9 continued to rock the crowd, and were joined late in the set on-stage by UM members Jake, Stasik, and Bayliss for a classic cover of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” The beautiful “Breathe In” was placed perfectly in the set, and a huge encore of “This, Us” and “Golden Gate” left the fans praising the “mind-expanding musical enjoyment” that was STS9/Umphreys 2013 Summer Tour!

Umphrey's rolled into Austin, Texas ready to rage at what has been their 4/20 destination spot for three years running: the famous Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheatre. Spirits were high as fans swarmed Red River and started flowing into the venue for the highly anticipated sold out show.

The band started the night off on fire with a stellar "Utopian Fir" sandwich. Fan favorites "In The Kitchen" and "Hurt Bird Bath" stood out as Jake Cinninger delivered with his signature guitar wizardry. Brendan Bayliss took the lead in "Loose Ends" and showcased vocal abilities that seemed to send a warm wave over the crowd. The set continued to cook as they broke into a spectacular cover of The Allman Brothers' "Jessica", allowing Joel Cummins to showcase his impressive piano skills. On top of it all, Waful lit up the night with an awe-inspiring array of colors that weaved through the leaves of the venue's oak trees. "Puppet String" closed out the first set with monumental energy and deep bass lines provided by Ryan Stasik, leaving the crowd hungry for more.

The second set maintained the intensity as Umphrey's busted out a huge "JaJunk," followed by a shredding version of "Push The Pig". Fans were then treated to a perfect reggae mashup titled "Life During Exodus" which blended covers of Bob Marley's "Exodus" and the Talking Heads' "Life During Wartime." The encore revisited the reggae vibe with "FF" leading into the longest jam of the night during "Divisions" which showcased amazing percussion solos by Kris Myers and Andy Farag.

TourGigs is proud to present Picking Up The Tab, the very best cuts from four nights and four massive shows performed by sonic giants Umphrey's McGee.

Eager Umphreaks packed the historic Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia as the band showcased their unique mastery of diverse sounds and styles. Arena-grade power rock? Check. Brendan's powerful vocals shine on performances of "Loose Ends" and the beloved classic "Hajimemashite." Sultry smooth jams? Check. Ryan Stasik's bass always brings the heat, and a highlight performance of "Comma Later" comes to life with the lush horn section that is Mad Dog's Filthy Little Secret. Joel rocked every angle on the keys, from the soulful strut of his synth on "White Pickle" to the haunting intro that opens the band's performance of “Mantis.”

Speaking of covers, powerhouse drummer Kris Myers set the Tabernacle on fire with his no-holds-barred vocal assault on a fresh cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Wish." As always, Andy brought his elite percussion expertise into the fray. And Jake? Between his expressive acoustic work on "Water" and and his inspired shredding on "Higgins," Jake proved yet again that his technical mastery of all things guitar is peerless. Add in a visually stunning light show courtesy of Jefferson Waful and this five-and-a-half-plus-hour film is nothing short of transcendant. Captured in crystal clear High Definition and presented with immersive 5.1 surround sound, you'll feel like you're there.

It's going to be a wild ride, so hold on tight. Rage. Rest. Repeat.

    Item #: UYAM131
Umphrey's McGee capped out their four-night run in Atlanta's famous Tabernacle with an incredible three-set New Year's Eve show. In set one, Joel and Jake effortlessly nailed the piano and guitar sections of Allman Brothers classic "Jessica." "Hajimemeshite" was dedicated to a fan who flew all the way from Japan for the New Year's run, illustrating that the fans will pull out all the stops to catch a stand out performance by Umphrey's. Stasik dedicated the cover of a personal favorite, Wang Chung's hit "Dance Hall Days," to his wife Mary Welch. Mad Dog's Filthy Little Secret horn section added a rich, full sound to the band throughout the night and Waful's gyroscopic lighting illuminated the venue's famous pipe organ. Umphrey's McGee rang in the new year with "Auld Lang Syne" and invited wives and family members on stage to share this momentous occasion with friends and fans alike. The blowout show received rave reviews instantly, with fans swearing the band has never been tighter and their performances have never been better. Umphrey's McGee truly set the stage for an incredible 2013!

    Item #: UYAM130
By night three of their four-night New Year's run, Umphrey's McGee had already blown the roof off Atlanta's Tabernacle Theater, leaving fans wondering how they could go any further. In the tradition of Umphrey's McGee however, they took everything up to the next level. Intense performances of "Depth Charge" and "JaJunk" had the venue pulsating. The band, the massive lighting by Waful, and the ecstatic fans were in perfect unison from shredding rock to ethereal jams, never skipping a beat. The set two opener that rolled from "Bright Lights, Big City" into "Cocaine" and back to "Bright Lights" is a one for the record books. The band was joined by saxophonist Jeff Coffin for an incredible "Night Nurse.” During the "In The Kitchen" encore, in anticipation of one more enormous night, Brendan changed the lyrics to ask the crowd if they'd “all come back tomorrow?" The roar of applause was his answer.

The band started their New Year's run with the debut of "Auf Wiedersehen" before dropping into the UM classic "Professor Wormbog." Arms were celebrating in unison as the band dominated the venue from the organ pipes to the depths of the upper balcony. The second set opened with a gritty rendition of "Phil's Farm" containing a monstrous Jimmy Stewart, the name of the band's famous improvised performances. As a standalone, this show is incredible. "'Death By Stereo' is a lethal musical gumbo stewed by the band's seemingly telepathic six members. The album finds the "fluid and majestic" (Washington Post Express) sextet's feet firmly entrenched in hard-hitting rock while still exploring radical new territories: 'Sticky Fingers'-era Rolling Stones romp on "Wellwishers," Black Keys-style blues on "Domino Theory," and horns-infused 70s funk on "Booth Love." "Conduit" delivers the type of dual-guitar fireworks that Umphrey's has become known for and 'Miami Virtue' is an upbeat, kaleidoscopic blend of Phoenix and Pink Floyd."

  • Rockstars and Lawnmowers by Ali Baba's Tahini CD
    Item #: UYCD07
Rock Stars and Lawnmowers is the most recent album from Ali Baba's Tahini, best known as the band Jake Cinninger was in before joining progressive rock band Umphrey's McGee.

The album is the first since 1999 to feature the original lineup of Cinninger, Karl Engelmann, and Steve Krojniewski. Engelmann left the band in 1999 and the group split a year later.

During the winter of 2004, Ali Baba's Tahini retreated to the North Carolina mountains to record the album over a one-week period. The recording contains a number of new songs as well as classic Ali Baba's Tahini concert songs that had yet to be recorded. It also features a song from Johnny Scroggs ("Veil"), who performs lead vocals on the track. The album was mastered by Cinninger and released a year later in 2005. Many of the new songs from the album are currently performed in concert by Umphrey's McGee.

  • Umphrey's McGee Death by Stereo Vinyl
    Item #: UYLP04
Death By Stereo vinyl double LP includes three bonus tracks on side D, and comes with an mp3 download of the album. "'Death By Stereo' is a lethal musical gumbo stewed by the band's seemingly telepathic six members. The album finds the "fluid and majestic" (Washington Post Express) sextet's feet firmly entrenched in hard-hitting rock while still exploring radical new territories: 'Sticky Fingers'-era Rolling Stones romp on "Wellwishers," Black Keys-style blues on "Domino Theory," and horns-infused 70s funk on "Booth Love." "Conduit" delivers the type of dual-guitar fireworks that Umphrey's has become known for and "Miami Virtue" is an upbeat, kaleidoscopic blend of Phoenix and Pink Floyd."
